Robert Mankin and Deborah Kahn Cunningham Elected to 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute Board of Trustees

INDIANAPOLIS – Dr. Robert Mankin and Ms Deborah Kahn Cunningham have been elected to 91ÆÞÓÑ InstituteÂ’s Board of Trustees to serve three-year terms, expiring in 2007.

Deborah Kahn Cunningham is the daughter of 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute founder Herman Kahn. She is a computer consultant and trainer, and has been involved in education reform for more than 35 years. She received a B.A. in Education from Manhattanville College in 1977.


For more than 25 years Cunningham has been initiating and managing a variety of projects in the arts and business. As a trainer, she has conducted computer training for Fortune 500 law, finance, pharmaceutical, and insurance companies, and a large variety of smaller businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals. She has planned, coordinated, and directed computer training programs and software transitions; customized and created training and reference documentation; and developed word processing templates and customizations based on work flow analysis.


Robert Mankin is a consultant, concentrating in the financial services arena with a heavy specialization in commercial, investment, and mortgage banking, strategic planning, and IT management. After studying mathematics at Brooklyn College as an undergraduate, Mankin received his MBA from Bernard Baruch College of the City University of New York and his Doctorate of Professional Studies from Pace.


Prior to working as a consultant, Mankin compiled an extensive background as a senior executive, primarily in financial services. He has served as a member of the management committee and as managing director of Nomura Securities International, serving as co-head of the Fixed Income Division, and founder of its Mortgage-Backed Securities business unit. He also was founder, CEO, and a director of the holding companyÂ’s commercial real estate securities business and board member of the firmÂ’s mortgage-backed securities subsidiary. Additionally, he served as the head of the Corporate Bond and Fixed Income OTC Options businesses.


Mankin served as senior vice president and COO of First Interstate BankÂ’s domestic capital markets organization, was COO of Thomson FinancialÂ’s Electronic Settlements Group, and COO of PaineWebberÂ’s Fixed Income Division. He also was vice president of Chase Manhattan Bank, serving as a senior corporate planner, head of Information & MIS, and head of the holding companyÂ’s de novo mortgage bankÂ’s strategic planning and business development division. Additionally, he held management positions at the American Broadcasting Company and Babcock & Wilcox.
