Biography

Lee Smith was a senior fellow at 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute.

Smith is the media columnist for Tablet Magazine and contributes regularly to a wide range of publications—the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Wired, Real Clear Investigations and the Federalist. He is a frequent guest on radio and television, including Fox News, CNN, France 24, Al Hurra, and National Public Radio.

His book on Arab societies, The Strong Horse: Power, Politics, and the Clash of Arab Civilizations, was published by Doubleday in 2010. Smith's most recent book book, The Consequences of Syria, was published in 2014.

Smith has a B.A. from George Washington University. He received the Sage Graduate School Fellowship at Cornell University, and studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo and Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut.
