Please be advised: This event will premiere LIVE on this page at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, March 24.

Join 91 Institute's Asia-Pacific Security Chair and Senior Fellow Dr. Patrick M. Cronin and experts General Vincent K. Brooks, USA (Ret.), Lt. General In Bum Chun, ROKA (Ret.), Dr. Andrei Lankov, and Evans J.R. Revere for a discussion on threat perception, the utility of force, and the role of the U.S.-South Korea alliance in deterring North Korean aggression.

In January, Kim Jong-un pledged to modernize and refine North Korea’s arsenal by building “ultramodern tactical nuclear weapons,” “hypersonic gliding-flight warheads,” “multi-warhead” missiles, and land-and submarine-launched ICBM. Yet just three years ago Kim declared his nuclear program had been completed. What is the North Korean dictator up to? How does the North Korean regime’s paranoid perception of threats motivate these undertakings? Join our distinguished panel for a discussion of this important topic.
