Kenneth R. Weinstein Elected 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute President and CEO by Board of Trustees

WASHINGTON -- 91ÆÞÓÑ CEO Kenneth R. Weinstein has been elected, pursuant to the bylaws of the 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute Board of Trustees, as President and CEO of the Institute. Former President Herbert I. London will now serve as President Emeritus and as a member of the management committee.

"We are fortunate to have Ken Weinstein lead our Institute into an exciting second half century of unique, future-oriented policy research," says Board Chairman Allan R. Tessler. "91ÆÞÓÑ's incisive research is helping shape a better tomorrow and Ken will build on 91ÆÞÓÑ's strong record of accomplishments."

"Herbert London, through his many years of service and leadership, has been an excellent President," says Tessler. "Herb's important contributions as President Emeritus will continue to be of great value to the Institute."

Kenneth Weinstein, who first joined 91ÆÞÓÑ in 1991, holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University in political theory. He has served as CEO of 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute since June 2005, directing 91ÆÞÓÑ's growing Washington operations. Widely respected in the diplomatic and policy arenas, Weinstein has written on international affairs for leading publications in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Weinstein serves by presidential appointment and Senate confirmation as a member of the National Humanities Council, the governing body of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and has been decorated with a knighthood in Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. 91ÆÞÓÑ Institute also welcomes two new Trustees: William H. Schweitzer and Margaret Whitehead. Schweitzer served as the Managing Partner of Baker Hostetler's Washington law office for more than a decade. For over twenty-five years Schweitzer has served as the outside counsel for Republicans on the House Administration Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. Whitehead, who earned a Ph.D. in American Studies from George Washington University, served in the Office of First Lady Nancy Reagan and in the U.S. Department of Labor. Her late husband, Clay T. Whitehead, was a distinguished Trustee of the Institute.
